THE STORMS OF LIFE

April 15, 2013

We all have one time or another been in a storm. If you have not, count it all joy. Our storms may not have been of “mother nature”, our own neglects or health issues.
Most storms will come without warning. That is one reason we have to stay prayed up. If we pray during peaceful times, our voices won’t be a stranger during the time of storms. Whatever storms we are going through, we don’t have to go through it alone. God is with us before the storm, during the storm and after the storm.
He will never leave nor forsake us. Jesus was on the ship with His disciples and they too, feared for their safety during the storm. Instead of panicking, call upon the name of Jesus. If He won’t cease your storms, He will bring you out of your storm. When He brings you out, you will have joy, strength, power and a testimony.
Whatever storms you are facing, God is bigger than any storm. Even the wind, rain and storms have to obey His command. He will speak “peace be still”. If your voyage is carrying you into a storm, Jesus is on board and He is the Captain. Though the sea may roar, the clouds may hover, the wind may blow, the waves may become over-whelming; He is still in control. Just have faith the size of a mustard seed.
He is God all by Himself. He does not have to ask anyone for their permission to calm the storm in your life. He promised; to never leave nor forsake us.
When thou passes through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walks through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (Isaiah 43:2)
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (John 14:1)
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?
And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? (Mark 4: 37-41)
