If I Be Lifted Up

September 16, 2013

Our Nation has just celebrated the 12th year of the attack of 911. During these past twelve years, have we drawn closer or farther away from God? God have blessed us so long and with so much, and yet, we don’t have time to thank Him. It’s time God people stop worrying about who will see us praising, praying or worshipping Him. If we are ashamed to praise Him in public, He will be ashamed to claim us before His Father.
We walk around with our heads held high, too good to speak to our neighbors, bend our knees, and give Him praises or even to say “thank You”. We act like God owe us something. In return, we owe Him everything. Jesus took our place on the cross, was beaten, wounded for our transgression, had committed no sins, but died for all sinners. How much do we owe Him?
God blesses us with health, jobs, big houses, fancy automobiles and a small bank account, and we think we have arrived. On 911, lives was lost, turned upside down and people was in disbeliefs. We are a Nation founded under God, but have turned our backs on God. We have refused to bend our knees or humble ourselves. We have freedom to worship and serve God freely, but still; we want to be “lukewarm”. Our Nation came together in prayers, but before the smokes of the towers have cleared, we were right back to our wicked ways.
We let anything take place under our watch and sit on our hands while laws are being passed. Parents are allowing children to raise them, rather than the parents raising the children. We sat back and allowed “beer to be sold on Sundays”, gays to unite in marriage, liquor stores to remain open on Sundays, different consequences depending on skin color or choose hate over love.
How long will God keep His “hedge of protection” around us? How many more incidents must be allowed “before we return to God”? Will He allow us another chance to “turn to Him or will the next incident be our last chance?
We are looking unto the government for answers. We should be looking “unto the hills from whence all our help cometh”. God is the Author and Finisher of our faith. When we allow Him to order our steps, be a Lamp unto our feet, a Light to our path and surrender our life to Him, our life will always be a mess.
When we go back to loving God, putting Him first, loving our neighbors, turn from our wicked ways, repent, pray and seek His face, God (and not politicians) will heal the land. Our “eternal life and safe keeping” goes through God. Because of our disobedience and turning away from God; The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favor to the young. (Deuteronomy 28:49-50)
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth. (Deuteronomy 28:1)
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. (John 3:14)
For it is written, as I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. (Romans 14:11)
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:19-20)
If “God people” would humble themselves, turn from their wicked way, pray and repent, God will heal the land. Church, we have to get back to the basic. If “God people” would lift Him up, He will do the drawing. “We need God and He does not need us”.

    I love it when people can come out of the word of God and not of themselves. The word of God says in 1 timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Pastor, I have talked with people and the spirit of these people is not good. We have to keep praying and lifting them before the Lord. God loves His people, however he dose not like the sin. As a Pastor I know to keep speaking life into those who are lose and we have to continue to praise God through it all.
