What Is Your Price?

October 14, 2013

What is your price for turning your back on God? Judas sold Jesus out for thirty pieces of silver. Will it take thirty-two pieces or less? Will it be a larger home, automobile, a private jet or popularity?
Many Pastors are preaching on prosperity rather than salvation. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matt. 16:26) Whatever material things we gain on this earth, we cannot carry it with us.
In the past, it was easy to distinguish the difference between a Pastor and a politician. In this modern day, it appears they both have sold their people out. Some Pastors are so busy elevating themselves until they have forgotten about their sheep’s. While these Pastors are elevating themselves, the wolves are slipping in through the back doors. We allow everything to enter and take place in God House because we don’t want to hurt anyone feeling or we want to be accepted as a “cool Pastor”. Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house a house of merchandise. (John 2:16b) If God said it was wrong before you were placed over a flock, it is still wrong.
We can’t change God “no” to a maybe. Yes, it is a new generation but the same God. He has not change nor will He ever change. We preach on “Will A Man Rob God” while we are robbing the church. Many Pastors have adorned themselves with several automobiles, fancy clothes, jewelry and even jet planes. God wants us to have fine things but not at the expense of robbing the church or the members. A person once told me “no one wants to follow a poor Pastor. People expect Pastors to dress a certain way and drive a certain type of automobile”. I challenged this person to show me in their Bible where Jesus entered into a jet or a fancy automobile for His trips to various cities.
How much do we owe Him? He bought us with a price. He is still extending FREE salvation to everyone that will accept it. Not one time did Jesus say “you have to get yourself right, dress a certain way or live in the right community”. Instead, He said “Come as you are and I will not turn you away”. Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. (Isaiah 1:18b)
How can we place a price on the gift God have freely given unto us? Some Pastor has to have a certain amount of money before they will even come to speak at other churches. If we are walking in faith, God will supply our every need. If God demanded a certain amount of money to blow breath into our bodies daily, how many people would still be alive? I even heard a Pastor call himself a “Rock Star”. In my definition, a rock star is an entertainer. There should be a difference between an “entertainer and a Pastor”. I believe that is one of the reasons the churches have lost it power to go after the lost sheep, reach out or heal; because we are entertaining and have outgrown the church.
I thank God always for the Pastors serving on the battlefield and pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus and not the money.(Philippians 3:14) Growing up, people said our Pastor could not read his name if it was printed and placed in front of him. When it came to preaching or being a shepherd, he could stand his own ground. Back then, people loved the Lord, each other and the church. In this modern day, many churches are demanding seminary degrees and not “born again” leaders. If you was sick and needed a leader to pray for you, would you prefer a leader with only a degree or a leader with a personal relationship with God?
In closing, WE (God people) have to get back to the basic by teaching what “thus said the Lord”. We have to be “transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2) We have to reach out to the people needs and not how much they can contribute to the offering, teach “how to be saved,” pray for one another, reach out, preach and teach the people without a penny in their pockets.
Christ paid the price for our Salvation that we can never repay. How much do we owe Him? What is your price for selling God out?
