What Is Separating You?

November 25, 2013

When I watch television or get onto Facebook, I hear and read so many posts calling the President all sort of names. No other Presidents have suffered the harsh criticism as President Obama. The road to Heaven leads through the President. If you can’t love the President, you can’t love God.
I don’t agree with all his laws or statements; but I respect him because of his office. He was elected by majority of the votes. People don’t always agree with my statements or platforms. We see people dressing up and going to church, say they love God but hate people because of their skin color or nationality. We have learned to despise people because of their education, favor from God or their financial status.
I over-heard a conservation of people talking about George Washington turning in his grave if he saw the condition of this Country. While we focus on G. Washington, how does Jesus perceive this Country? While we are blaming the President, what is our role in this mess?
Are we lifting Jesus up? Have we turned from our wicked ways? Are we promoting love instead of hate? Are we sending up prayers? Are we placing God first in our lives? Are we following His footsteps? Are we listening to His voice? Are we loving and helping our neighbors? Are we following Biblical principles? Have we allowed Package Stores to be open on Sunday’s or are we keeping it Holy? Do we love God with our whole heart? Are we saying “it’s alright for men to marry men, women marrying women when God have said “It is wrong”?
Are we saying “it’s alright to abuse our powers or authority over a weaker person”? Are we saying “it’s alright to kill when the Bible have already said “Thou shalt not kill”? Are we taking full responsibility for our faults or are we looking for someone else to blame? People always quote “I don’t believe in interracial marriage because the Bible says it is wrong. People cannot give me a Book, Chapter or verse. Jesus did not die for one race but for all races, nationalities and genders. I fell in love with people hearts and not their skin color. We say “I am not prejudice, but whatever is in the heart will surface; whether “good or evil”.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, prejudices and hate be laid aside. We have been dragging these weights around long enough. Lay them down! Let’s us ask God for more love, more forgiveness, more patience and more Christ like. Those that worship the Lord must worship Him in Spirit and truth.
Let us always reach for love instead of hate. Instead of criticizing the President and others, let us first take inventory of ourselves. What is keeping (your name)_____________ from being more like Christ?
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.(Romans 8:38-39)
