Trust In The Lord

December 29, 2013

Before we move into 2014, let’s take a minute of reflections and thanksgiving. God did not have to bring us this close to a new year. We wrestled with weights in 2013 that we cannot or should not carry into the New Year. It is a new year with a new beginning.

I like to comfort people with these words from (John 14:1) “Let not your heart be trouble, you believe in God, believe also in Me”. Whatever trials and tribulations the New Year brings, don’t lose faith in God. Faith and prayers will sustain us in the storms of life. We can’t see faith but we trust and believe in a Living God.

The Apostle Paul tells us in (Hebrews 12:1-2): “let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us; and look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith”.  Let us keep our eyes focused on God, our ears attentive to His Words, trust Him with our hearts and spend more time listening and communicating with God. Do you trust God with your mouth or your heart?

God did not bring us this far to leave us. He will make a way out of no way. He give us His promise in (Isaiah 43:16) “Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters”.

God is going to do a new thing in 2014, which eyes have not seen, ears have not heard; neither has entered the hearts of men, the good things He is going to do. “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19). He will be a lamp unto our feet and a Light unto our path.

In closing, going into 2014, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old”. Leave the negative of 2013 behind us and look forward to 2014, as we press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).

Don’t go into the New Year with doubts. God is still alive and in control. There are no doubts in God. Doubts can’t make a blind man to see, a deaf man to hear, a lame man to walk or a mute man to talk. If we only carry a “grain the size of a mustard seed” into 2014, there will be a great harvest. Keep looking upward. Keep praying. Keep believing. Start praising Him and seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and all its righteousness and watch what God is going to do. He will cause your cup to run over with blessings. He will make the “impossible become possible”. All good and perfect gifts are from above. God know the plans He has for us.
