Your Blessings Awaits

January 20, 2014

Image Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25)

Some people have said; “they don’t have to go to church to worship God or to be saved”. In some instances they are right. A person can be saved at home, at work, riding in an automobile or at a lake. We can also praise God at home, in our automobiles or our jobs. Many times, our blessings are awaiting us at the church. When we fail to align ourselves with the plan of God, we miss our blessings.

Your blessing could be a Word from God or we could receive revelations to the prayers we have been submitting. Maybe, you have been praying for a job. At the church, there could be a manager, President or C.E.O. looking for an employee. Maybe you have been praying for a home or automobile. At the church, there could be a banker in the congregation; that will help to get your application approved. God place people in our path for a reason; because we are at home worshipping God, we have missed all our blessings, faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. .  James 2:17 (KJV)

When we are assembled together, we have a body of believers praying with us and for us. When we are assembled together in a church setting, we also have covering. If you have been praying and God have not answered your prayers, these bodies of believers can stand in agreement with you. “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16b) Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. (2 Corinthians 1:11) Maybe, you have been praying for healing of yourself or a family member but have not seen any results. “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord”. (James 5:14)

I can personally witness to two specific blessings received at church:

When I injured my shoulder, I could not elevate my right arm to brush my teeth, place keys in ignition or lift a gallon of milk from the refrigerator. The medical staff was discussing removing my shoulder joint and replacing it with a plastic joint. I went to the church and asked the church to pray with me and for me. The believers met me at the alter; prayed for me and before I left the alter, I was lifting my arm over my head. I was healed and have not had any recurring pain. “Thank God for His healing”.

I know of a lady that went to church and asked the church for financial help with transportation. In the church, there was a lady that gave her a great car that was just sitting in her garage. If this lady would have sat at home praying and praising God, she may never have received this blessing. God have a plan and purpose for all our lives, but we have to be in place to receive our blessings.

One person cannot lift an automobile by themselves. Together, with the believers in a church, “there is power and strength”. Ten people are stronger than one person. There’s strength in numbers. In the church, God may use you to speak a word of encouragement to others. Maybe someone in the church is going through something that God has delivered you from and you can testify to that person on “how God brought you out”. In the church, we can receive blessings or be a blessing. We can do neither sitting at home.
