How Long?

March 16, 2014

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked?  Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.  Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.  They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. (Psalms 82:2-5)

God has really been merciful, longsuffering, patient, kind to all of us.  We have repaid Him by the pulling away from Him and His statues.  We have become a selfish, impatient and hateful generation.

How long will You continue being patient with us? How long, will continue giving us time to repent? How long will you continue allowing parents to smother, beat or shake their child to death? How long will you allow parents to burn their daughter in a garbage can?  How long will you allow judges to judge unfairly? How long will you allow officers to shoot down young men? How long will You allow young men to shoot down each other? How long will you allow evil to tread upon the earth? How long will You allow leaders to lead the people astray through false teaching? How long, will You allow the Judicial System to render prison sentence to some and grant favors to others? How long will You allow this hate and racism to continue? How long will You allow leaders to sell church properties for exchange of a new stadium? How long will you continue allowing government leaders to turn their backs, neglect or tread upon the poor and needy?

How long must we wait upon Your righteous judgment? How long, must we wait for You to come and cleanse the earth of all unrighteous and evil doings?

Prayer: Father, we thank You for your patience, sending Your Son to die on the cross, for forgiveness, for salvation and eternal life. Father, I pray that every lost person would accept Your lingering and repent from their sins. I pray that every ear will hear and every evil heart will repent. Help us to number our days. May every lost soul find You in the day You can be found.

If you are lost today or have back slid, God is waiting with outstretch arms and a compassionate heart. The day you hear His voice, harden not your heart. Will you open your heart to Him today? Tomorrow is not promised. If you believe in your heart that God have raised Jesus from the grave, you will be saved and escape an eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire. Will you turn, repent and accept Jesus as your Savior today?

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. (Luke 4:18)
