Stop, Look and Listen

April 28, 2014

Last weekend, we celebrated the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior.  The news media concentrated more on the death of Herb Emory. It hurts to lose a love one. My prayers of healing and comfort are with the Emory family.  Herb reported the traffic news but Jesus Resurrection was the “Good News”. People were asking if “you heard of Captain Herb death”. Have you heard of Jesus crucifixion and Him rising again on the third day with all power in His hands? Through the death of One Man (Jesus)

Our leaders are making a mockery of God laws. Bills are being passed to carry guns into the House of God.  God commanded Moses to “pull off his sandals” before entering the mountain of Horeb; why do we think it alright to carry a gun into the House of God? “Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is Holy ground”. (Exodus 3:5c)

Leaders have allowed everything from selling candy to performing gay marriage ceremonies in the House of the Lord.  And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a “den of thieves”. (Matt.21:13)  When we look downtown Atlanta, we see the absence of leaders being led by God.  Church buildings and properties are sold to make room for a new dome.  Some of those Church buildings held deep memories. Some people were baptized, got married, could come to the building to pray, stand in agreement and make their petitions to God.  “Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them”. (Matt. 21:14) History is being stolen by our present political leaders.  Church Buildings and properties are being sold, communities are being torn apart through the erecting of railways and allowing every person to strap on or carry a gun.

If we seek to please God and less about fattening our pockets, more people would come to the knowledge of God. God has a plan for all our lives.  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jer. 29:11) God plans for us is to have a future, hope and being reconciled back to Him. The people in the world need more love and not more guns. Guns kill and love heals.  Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;  bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) There is a need to return back to the basic. God have already given us directions through 7 steps written in “plain English and printed in black and white”.  (1) you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment. (Matt. 22:37-38)  (2) You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Matt. 22:39)  (3) You shall have no other gods before Me. (Exodus 20:3)  (4) If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves,  (5) and pray  (6) and seek My face  (7) and turn from their wicked ways, God will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

There is a need to hear from God. This nation cannot continue doing wrong and evil and expect God to bless it. It’s time we WAKE UP, STOP, LOOK and LISTEN to what “thus said the Lord”.  If we don’t repent, we will all perish. We need to seek the Lord while we still have time.

Satan wants leaders to spread lies and convince you that “President Obama is the reason the Country is in the shape it is”. We have pulled away from God and the President didn’t have anything to do with the pulling away. The President didn’t tell you to hate your neighbor because of their skin color, nationality or sexual preferences.  No person is born being a racist, it is taught. When we come to ourselves and realize we can’t go to Heaven with hate in our hearts, we need to repent and turn from our wicked ways. Children are innocent and filled with love. Children are an example of what real Christians should be. “Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” (Luke 18:17)

It reminds me of 2nd Timothy 4:3 but the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine instead to suit their own desires they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching earswant to hear your Thank you Pastor Fairley for sound doctrine.
