Stand or Sit

May 26, 2014

Some followers have said “my blogs” is too raw and provoking. When the truth is set before you, people have to speak out. Many times, I have stated my opinion but always backed by Scriptures. My opinion does not reflect the opinions of my family or church family.

We have been silent too long. Many Christians don’t want to “rock the boat”. Therefore their silent is consent. We want to whisper about the wrongdoings taking place around us; and be certain we don’t offend anyone.  Jesus has not given us the Spirit of fear. I can’t “sugar-coat” God Word, nor do I apologize.  “For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book”. (Revelations 22:18-19)

If Daniel would have followed the decree issued by King Darius, Daniel never would have been placed in the lion den.  Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.   And they went before the king, and spoke concerning the king’s decree: “Have you not signed a decree that every man who petitions any god or man within thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” (Daniel 6:11-12)

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego refused King Nebuchadnezzar command to “serve my gods or worship the gold image”.  Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made.  But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?”

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.  If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.  But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” (Daniel 3:15-18)

John was imprisoned and beheaded for telling Herod “It is not lawful for you to have Philip’s wife.” (Matt.14:4)

Paul and Silas were imprisoned for casting out a spirit of divination in a slave girl. Then the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with rods.  And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. (Acts 16:22-23)

Dr. M.L. King was imprisoned and murdered for fighting for justice. He used the Word of God as his sword.

The answer to all our questions has already been answered in the Bible. When you stand up and speak out, you will be ridiculed, but stand!!! Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead). (Galatians 1:1)

Pastor keep up the good work and let the Lord use you completely.

  2. Pastor Fairley, and I agree with Pastor Marion, this is a good work and you are reaching a global audience. To God be the glory there is one who will speak up instead of sit down in times like these!

  3. Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
