Wake Up

November 3, 2014

Before you go to cast your vote on Tuesday, take time to pray, research the candidates and their platforms. We have made so many bad decisions because we didn’t vote for the right candidate but voted against the candidate holding office.

In Georgia, I have not heard of one candidate platform they are running on. Every Republican candidate is talking about what President Obama is not doing, but I have not heard one to say what they plan to do or how they plan to fix the Country. With all the ads running, I have not seen one ad that mentions God. How can one man skin color divide and separate an entire Country? After the President leaves office, the Country will still be an “imperfect” place unless Jesus comes back on January 1, 2017. Our focus has got to be on God and not the future President holding office.

When we take our eyes and focus off God and look to the government; we are already doomed. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) People have blamed the President for veterans dying because the Veteran Administrators did not do their jobs. People are even trying to pin the spread of Ebola on the President. It is easier to blame someone else rather than take the blame. People died from cancer, auto accidents, heart attacks, AIDS, pneumonia, drowning, asthma, domestic violence and other sickness under former Presidents, but none of them was blamed. Our sins and the pulling away from God have brought these destructions upon our steps. While we are looking at parties and candidates, God have already given us possibilities.   If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Limbaugh and others want people to believe “if we had a different President, there would be no crimes; no Ebola, no planes crashing, no sinners, no unemployment and the world would be a perfect place”. We are in the days when people have allowed others to think and speak for them. Limbaugh is feeding people with negative criticism and people are falling for it. These same people never stop to think that Limbaugh don’t care about them. He is talking to hear himself and to raise his ratings. We read and hear of the blame game being carried out several times in the Bible. Adam blamed God for the woman He gave unto him. The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it. The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (Genesis 3:12-13b)  Martha blamed Jesus for the death of their brother, Lazarus. “Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died”. (John 11:21) Jesus is speaking to us “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead and Christ will shine on you”.  Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.  Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is”. (Ephesians 5:14-17)
