Lean On Me

December 22, 2014

Many times, we find ourselves in a valley of distress, despair or confused. God want us to place all our trust in Him and lean on Him when we are not strong. He will help us carry the heavy load.  Some burdens are too heavy for our shoulders. Give it to God!!! If God does not answer your prayers immediately, keep on praying without ceasing. God is faithful to answer our prayers.

Time to time, we are placed in situations not to punish us, but to make us stronger. Nothing we face is new to Jesus. The road for Jesus was not paved and straight. He too, was talked about, rejected, persecuted, beaten and betrayed. Yet, He held no grudges but ask the Father to forgive His enemies.

Before Jesus was betrayed, He went into a quiet place to allow God to minister unto Him. He asked the Father three times to “let this cup pass from Him”. Everything in our cup will not taste pleasant but we must drink from our cup. Some of the things in our cups are of our own doing. The day will come when we must drink from our cup. If we have placed forgiveness, love, compassionate and peace in our cup, will make the taste a little sweeter to our taste.

When you enemies come against you, God is saying to us “be still” and I will fight all your battles. I will make your enemies your footstool. I will give you rest in a green pasture. I will be your Shepherd and you shall not want for anything. I will supply your every need and I will never leave nor forsake you.

Right now, many are suffering and depressed. It might not be because we done something but that the Father in Heaven will be glorified. God will not place more on us than we can bear. God want to help us. Will you open the door of your heart and allow Him to help you? We can’t carry this heavy load. It’s good to have a Savior that are willing to place “our” yoke around His neck and help us pull this heavy load. In the days of past, farmers would place a yoke around a pair of oxen to pull the plow. God will be our Helpmate to the end. He is our Intercessor to stand in the gap with us and for us.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:5-7)

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
