His Promises

February 23, 2015

One song-writer once wrote: “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow”. Because He lives, I don’t have any doubts. I know He is still in control of my life and my future. Because He lives, I can walk through the valley of the shadow of death with no fear.

I can walk in confidence; knowing weapons may form against me, but they shall not prosper. When you walk with Jesus, you have on the whole armor of God. The breastplate of righteous will protect you from all the darts aimed at you. People are stressed about all the shootings taking place upon this earth. If one of those bullets should kill me, I know this is the way God has planned for me to leave this earth. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain”. (Philippians 1:21) Two days, He went down to the grave. After His resurrection, He promised that “He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5b)

He also promised us that because we can’t see Him, He is always present with us. “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever “(John 14:16) He don’t want our hearts to be troubled. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. (John 14:1-2)

Jesus loves us so much that He died on the cross for our sins. He stays awake to keep watch over His children. “He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber”. (Psalm 121:3) He will not allow us to remain orphans because He gone “to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also”. (John 14:3) We are not just redeemed but “preserved from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and even forevermore. (Psalm 121:7-8) “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption”. (Ephesians 4:30)

He is a Caring Father and a Good Shepherd. He answers our prayers and listens when we talk. He supplies our every need and we shall not want for anything. He is a Hiding Place in the day of trouble. A Bridge over trouble waters, a Doctor in a sick room, a Healer, a Deliverer, a Lawyer and Judge in a courtroom, a Friend when we are friendless. Oh, thank Him for being a Friend and never leaving us.

Prayer: O Gracious God, we come to say “thank you” for Your love, protection, Your promises, Your grace and mercy, Your loving kindness and your forgiveness of sins. Father, if we had a thousand tongues, we could say “thank You” enough. Right now, we praise You, lift You up and we magnify You.
