Standing on the Word

March 2, 2015

Many people are standing on “self-accomplishment”, titles or financial gain. In my opinion, many people have “sold out” or compromised the Word of God to avoid rocking the boat and being accepted by society. Standing on the word will not make you popular with the world.

God word cuts deeply and to the heart. We can’t be a friend of the world and a friend of God. We have to choose this day whom we are going to serve. God did not stutter when He handed down the Commandments or His Words. We can’t place a “maybe” where God has said no.

In Atlanta, the Mayor terminated the Atlanta Fire Chief Terminated For His Views On Homosexuality.

Mayor Reed stated: the Chief did not get permission to publish the book. Mayor Reed is the elected Mayor and not God. In my opinion, the Mayor had endorsements from the homosexual communities and did not want to offend them. The Mayors arms are too short to fight with God. If God placed this book on the Fire Chief heart, he is protected under God and his First Amendment Rights. Believers have been taking everything lying down and quietly accepting the worlds view as their own. While we are silently accepting, Satan is invading the ranks of the believers and plucking them out, one by one. If Paul, Silas, John and others had been quiet, they would not have been beaten, imprisoned or beheaded. The easy thing would have been to accept things the way they had always been but that was not the charge that God had given them.

As Christians, we will be persecuted, lied on, mistreated or even rejected; but never forsaken. God promised to never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5) Paul and Silas were beaten and imprisoned for teaching customs which are not lawful for us, being Romans, to receive or observe.”  (Acts 16:21-24) John was imprisoned and beheaded for standing on the Word of God (Matt.14:4) God is saying to all of us “Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.”  (Psalm 105:15) Jesus was handed over to Pilate because of envy. (Matt. 27:18)

When we stand for God, He will stand with us. We see that when Daniel was cast into the lion den. So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.” And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?” (Daniel 6: 16, 20) The Hebrew boys were cast in the furnace for not bowing to the King. And he commanded certain mighty men of valor who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”(Daniel 3:20, 24-25)

Joseph was sold to the Ishmaelite’s because of envy but the Lord was with Joseph and God made him a successful man (Genesis 39:2) Job lost everything, was tempted by Satan, betrayed by his friends but God blessed him and restored double back to him.(Job 42:10)

Prayer: Father in Heaven, we come before You asking for wisdom, knowledge, strength and more of You. Grant us strength were we are weak. Help us to stand firmly on Your word. Be our Stronghold. We know you did not give us a Spirit of fear but a Spirit of boldness. Bless us to stand bold on your word and do what is acceptable in Thy sight. We ask that every word we speak that You will be lifted up. Bless us to be doers of Your word and not just hearers only. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in Thy sight. Help us to be better stewards of our time and Your word. Through Your word, the blind receive sight, the deaf ears are open and stony hearts have accepted Your invitation. Father, we say Thank You. Amen
