Love is the Greatest

July 13, 2015

Love is one of the greatest attributes God has given unto mankind. God shown His love for us through the giving of His Only Begotten Son. God allowed His sinless Son to die on an old rugged cross for our sins that we may be reconciled back to Him.

God gave us three gifts: “Life, Love and Choices”.  We waste God precious gift (love) by hating and fighting among ourselves. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. (John 3:16) God gave us a second gift “life”. We waste an entire life and love by hating and hurting each other. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly”. (John 10:10)  Thirdly, we make bad choices by allowing ourselves to be a servant of sins and rejecting eternal life. He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” (Luke 10:16) “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me”. (Revelations 3:20)When death comes knocking on our door, there is no time to love or live life to the fullest. I was at a funeral and watched a daughter be torn to pieces at her father funeral. When her father was alive, she never shown love with a call, Christmas, Father Day or birthday card. I believe it was guilt that was tearing her apart. When she had the opportunity to show love, she wasted that time. Don’t allow guilt to cause us to have remorse.

We all are different races or nationalities but we have the same gifts; “Life, Love and Choices”. We all must enter through the same door. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap”. (Galatians 6:7) I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture”. (John 10:9) Being different makes us stronger and appreciate each other. Many people believe their earthly titles, financial assets, work or praises by men will get them through the door. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast”. (Ephesians 2: 8-9) “For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God”. (John 12:43) “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.  And let us not grow weary while doing well, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart”. (Galatians 6:8-9)

Prayer: Father, we thank You for loving us and allowing us the time to show love to our love ones. Help us to number our days. We ask You to fill our hearts with unconditional love and forgiveness. We know that life is so short and tomorrow is not promise. When old death come knocking, we ask that there won’t be any guilt or remorse to those left behind. Bless our works to speak for us. Bless us to give flowers while our love ones can hold, smell and see them. Fill our hearts with the same love demonstrated on the Hill of Calvary. We thank You for Your Son, the Holy Spirit, grace, mercy, love and life more abundant. Amen
