Media Coverage

September 14, 2015

Even in death, people are still labeled as a hero or drug user (Sandra Bland) results show Bland had marijuana in her system, a finding that could be “relevant to her state of mind,” assistant district attorney Warren Diepraam has said. What drugs was in the officer blood? Oh a drug test was not warranted because of the officer behavior. In life, some things must die for something new to take place. The reconstruction of the Justice System would be a beginning of the new thing.

The media covered the killing of the four Marines in Chattanooga for minutes but scanned across the segment of Sandra Bland death. One television station also listed one of the Marines as being a hero but failed to identify his heroic status. When men (now women) dies in the presence of officers, their negative past always surface. When death invades the ranks of families, it brings forth pain and causes the hearts to be heavy. Sgt. James Brown served two tours in Iraq only to come home and die in a Texas jail. The media did not place the same honor or emphasis on Sgt. Brown death as Skip Wells the Marine from Marietta, GA. In death, how or why does one soldier receive more recognition?

My heart goes out to the families of the four Marines and also Sandra Bland family. If the media would have taken the time to interview Bland family and friends, they would discover that she was a lovely young woman, with a great future and loved by her family and friends. The question still remains: why would a person leave Illinois to come to Texas to hang herself?

What autopsy results did the Country expect to receive from a medical examiner in Texas when her death took place in Texas? Bland death and other unresolved deaths signify changes in the Justice System must take place. Whether guilty or innocent of hanging herself, God witnessed her death.

In judgment, the elected officials cannot blame the officers or jailers. When officials know of wrong and evil doings taking place and not do anything, is as guilty as the one committing the crimes. Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things.  And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God”? (Romans 2:1-3) “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin”. (1 John 2:1)

Prayer: Father, we come with out-stretch hands to Thee, no other help we know. We need You in this sin sick world. We just can’t make it without You. When this world is spinning out of control, we know that You are still in control. In these last days, we ask You to clothe us with the whole armor of God, that we will be able to withstand all the fiery darts of the enemy. Keep us in the palm or Your hand. We know that nothing is impossible with You. We thank You for everything You have done, is doing and thank you in advance for what You are going to do for us. We will forever give You the honor and glory, in Jesus name.
