In Time Like These

January 11, 2016

In these perilous days, it appears Satan is attacking everything we love. If it’s not us, it’s our family, health or finances. He is a clever deceiver and a roaring lion; walking up and down throughout the earth looking for easy prey. Thanks are to God that He has already prayed for us. He holds us in the palm of His hand. Allstate may be a good insurance company but God is an Awesome Insurance Carrier. His policy never decrease nor is premiums due; He have already paid the premiums in FULL by His precious blood.

And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. (Luke 22:31). In the old days, people would use sifters to sift flour, corn meal or grits. Without sifting the flour, there would be lumps in the pie crusts or cakes. People would sift the corn meal to separate weasels out of the meal. A sifter would tumble, shake-up, and separate the good from the bad. A sifter was placed over a bowl and everything went into the bowl was used and the remaining of the sifter was cast out. Satan tries to shake us up by sifting us and taking the good out of us. Jesus has already prayed for us that our faith fails not and He uses everything for the good for the edifying of the Kingdom. Everyone will not or cannot understand the assignment upon your life. In time like these, we need a Savior that will have our backs. We need to know the words of prayers and how to get in contact with God for ourselves. When I started out in the ministry, I had leaders telling me: “we are here for you”. When I needed someone to talk to, none of those (friends) had time. Whatever happened to the advice Paul gave to Timothy: You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus”. (2 Timothy 2:1)

In this life, we are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;   persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. Satan knows, if he can cause our faith to waver that he can defeat us. Faith keeps us waiting patiently on Jesus, and we know, that Jesus will come through. We don’t know when or how but we have faith that He will. Satan uses this waiting time to plant seeds of doubts. He tries to convince us that God cares nothing about us.

When I was promoted to supervisor in one of my previous jobs, the Supertident didn’t want to acknowledge my education or experience. He didn’t want to recognize the God that I serve; neither was he informed that this promotion didn’t come from man; but from God. For promotion comes neither from the North, South, East or West but from God. This Supertident tried to place stumble blocks in my path but God have already went ahead of me and removed all stumble blocks. When God is for you, man can’t hurt you.

Joseph brothers tried to destroy Joseph. God used the evil of his brothers to place Joseph into position to be able to help his brothers during the famine. King  Nebuchadnezzar thought he would destroy Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego by placing them in the fiery of furnace. Little did he know that God is able to quench any fire? God used this furnace to prove to Nebuchadnezzar that there’s no God greater. God used this furnace to have Nebuchadnezzar to be converted and have his servants to be promoted.

Prayer: Father, I thank You that You have already prayed for me and You don’t allow any weapons formed against me to prosper. You have been a Stronghold in the day of trouble. You didn’t allow my enemies to have victory over me.
