I Am the Way

March 7, 2016

When we hear GPS, we automatically think of an electronic device in our automobiles. People will follow an electronic device to the end of the earth. Large ships and aircrafts use GPS to arrive at their destinations. Rider’s places bits into horse mouth to turn them in the directions they want the horse to go. If the GPS tell us to turn right, we turn without reservation. When God Word tells us to turn right, we question His word. God word tells us unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5) It took God and men working together to produce the Bible. God inspired men and they wrote down what God had inspired them to write. The Bible is our roadmap. It will lead us from earth to Heaven, if we follow it. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work”.(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Since the Word of God has been made flesh, we can no longer use the crutch “I didn’t know;” “unless Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices”. (2 Corinthians 2:11) We can’t even say “I don’t know the way”. “Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:5-6)

God condensed His plan of salvation into one of the greatest verse in the Bible. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). When we enter Heaven address into the GPS, it will carry us from earth to Heaven. In some electronic GPS, many times, they will calculate short-cut which will carry us down unpaved roads. There are no short-cuts on the “straight and narrow”. If electronic GPS’s are not updated frequently, they will declare your destination while nothing is there. Jesus has come that we may have life and have it more abundant. God word is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow; therefore, no update software are necessary.

Prayer: Precious Lord take our hand and lead us home. When our way gets dark, we ask You to be a Lamp unto our feet and a Light to our path. Help us to meditate on Your word and keep it in our hearts that our faith fails us not.
