What’s is in a Name?

March 21, 2016

Many parents spend their hard earned money trying to buy name brand clothes, shoes and phones for their children, but fail to teach their children about the name of Jesus or eternal life. Instead of teaching your child how to use a phone, teach them how to call on the name Jesus. When that phone is out of service, you and your child can still contact Jesus. He is on the main line with no waiting or interruption in service. There is never any “roaming charges” with these calls.

Name brand material things will not save a soul from Hell. People say “I want to give my children the things I did not have”. Salvation is free. Teach your children about seeking the Kingdom of Heaven and not about material things or brand names. “All good and perfect gifts come from God”. When name brand clothes have been replace with a new brand, Jesus is still the same and He will never change nor forsake us.

Calvin Kline, Jordache or Michael Jordan can’t forgive one sin. There’s only one name under Heaven whereby we may be saved and His name is Jesus. “It’s something about the name Jesus. It is the sweetest name I know” (Rance Allen). Some witnesses have called Him to be a Healer, Lawyer, Judge, Almighty, Doctor and a Way-Maker. The prophet Isaiah foretold some of the names Jesus would be known: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

It’s alright for your child to be different. This means, they are peculiar, set aside, chosen and have set their affections on things above and not on things on this earth. At the name of Jesus, there is power, forgiving of sins, healing and Salvation. The name of Jesus causes demons to tremble, diseases and illness to depart the body. “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”. (Philippians 2:10-11)

Prayer: Father, we honor thy Holy and righteous name. We lift your name above all names.   We know there’s power in the name of Jesus. We come asking that this mind be in us, which was also in Jesus. Help us to focus more on pleasing You and less of material things. Bless us to remember when we was lost, blind, in trouble or sick, it was the name of Jesus that saved us, made a way for us and healed our bodies. Father, we thank You for everything You have did, is doing but we thank You for what You are going to do. We give You the glory and praises for Your grace, love and mercy. Our hearts cries out “thank You”, in the name of Jesus. Amen
