He Rose

March 28, 2016

It would be impossible to celebrate Easter without Christmas. Many people celebrate Easter by attending church, Easter programs, buying cards, baskets and new clothes.

Easter is more significant than bunnies, eggs, new clothes and attending church services. If Christ has risen in our hearts, Easter is a time of celebration. We should thank God for the people that attend church service only on Easter Sunday.  God can meet them there that one Sunday morning and the Holy Spirit enters into their hearts and they catch on fire for God.

Without Christ being born on Christmas, there would be no Easter. We preach or hear messages of how He rose that Easter morning. The truth has not been told concerning the many miracles He performed leading up to Easter. He was rejected, beaten, denied, falsely accused, betrayed, had  no sins, but died for all sinners. He hung and DIED on an “old rugged cross” for OUR SINS that evening. He was placed in a borrowed tomb. Early (what we call Easter), God raised Him with all powers.

I was not there that Easter morning when the Angels rolled back the stone. I was right there that Wednesday night, when His grace and mercy rolled back the stone from my heart. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me”. (Revelation 3:20) I was right there when He came into my heart and rose that Wednesday night. Now, I can tell a dying world that He lives. I don’t have to wait until the calendar decides what Sunday the Country will celebrate Easter. I don’t have to place my finger in the nail holes nor thrust my hand in His side to believe. I know, because He rose and lives in my heart which causes me to have Easter and Christmas every day. Because He died, rose and lives, I can face tomorrow without fear.

He have taken the sting out of death and claimed victory over the grave. “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord”. (1 Corinthians 15:55-58) We too, can have the same victory if we will allow Him to come into our hearts. He will come on the inside and make us new. His grace and mercy will give us victory over the grave by His powers. If we will “confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10) The same God that raised Jesus will also raise us from our grave.

Prayer: Thank You for dying for our sins and providing a way for us to be reconciled back to You. Forgive us of our sins. Thank You for not leaving us in the grave. Thank You for eternal life.
