If Men Won’t, God Will

June 6, 2016

It has become a norm to hear of another officer shooting. Some of these shootings are justified. Whereas, some of these shootings are out of fear and senseless. No Attorney General, State Department or courts are holding these officers accountable for these senseless shooting. If men won’t hold these corrupt officers accountable-God will.

We can’t place an “it’s alright” where God has said “thou shall not kill.” When an officer dies, the entire community speaks of their goodness and the loss the community will suffer. Just as officer’s families love them, the victim’s families also love their family member. Just as an officer is a father, mother, brother, uncle, aunt or grand-parent; these victims are also someone son, daughter, sister, brother, uncle, aunt or grand-parent. Death does not discriminate whether we wear a badge or not. When death invades the ranks of the living, it leaves a hole in our hearts that will never heal.

We know that death is certain. We don’t know how, when or where but we can be certain that on our appointed time, the angel of death will close our eye-lids. We have to love everyday, (“I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts” John 5:42) search the Scriptures daily to make sure we will have eternal life. “You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life”. (John 5:39)

We also must remember that “we will reap what we sow” and God will judge us and hold us accountable for our actions. “For there is no respect of persons with God” (Romans 2:11)

Prayer: Father in Heaven, forgive us of our trespass. Create in us a clean heart and renew a right Spirit within us. Help us to number our days that we show the same love one to another as You have shown love and mercy unto us.
