September 11,2016, marks the 15th year anniversary of the terrorist attack on US soil. On this day 15 years ago, terroristic attacks on the World Trade Center stole almost 3,000 lives.

We know that life is unpredictable and filled with many uncertainties, but we know death is certain. God has protected us, He kept us among the living and still keeps us from all hurt, harm and danger ( both seen and unseen). Rather than thanking him for his mercy and grace by honoring his word, we allow all manner of evil to take place on our watch. We allow evil and hate to spread like wildfire.

In a twinkling of a eye, our country was turned upside down and left in confusion and fear. One day, in the twinkling of an eye, death will close our eye-lids and we will have to give in account of our life.

On the 11th day of September 2001, death showed it’s power. The tragedy of 9/11 brought us to out knees as we came together in unity and prayer. This is one of a handful of days in history that this Country did not see skin color.

Again, in 1991, race was not a factor when President George H.W. Bush ordered troops to the Persian Gulf (known as Operation Desert Storm). Citizens were uniting in unity and prayer. People were encouraged to petition God and pray for the safe return of their loved ones.

In my distress, I cried unto the Lord and He heard me”. (Psalm 120:1) God is pressing upon the heart of man to remember; when weapons were formed against you they did not harm you; when you were sick, I healed your body; when you didn’t see a way, I made a way. When you were in a horrible pit, I pulled you out. Do you remember when you were drowning in a sea of sin, I rescued you? I made a way for you to be reconciled back to Me; I died on the cross for your sins. Yet, look at how you are treating your neighbors. Why should we allow anything to separate us from the love of Christ?

After God made a way in the wilderness for the Israelites and placed them on safe ground, they soon forgot and started making idols and serving idol gods. (Exodus 32:1-8) When God has done something for you, don’t be like the nine lepers that failed to return to tell God “Lord, I thank You”. When God has cleaned us up, don’t return to the mud. Don’t be like the dog that returns to his vomit, the scripture reminds us “so a fool returneth to his folly. “(Proverbs 26:11)

Prayer: Father, we thank You for being a Stronghold in the day of trouble. We thank You for continuing to watch over us, blessing us and looking beyond our faults and seeing our needs. Father, you have been better to us than we have been to You. When this Country is in confusion, we ask You to be our Rock. We continue looking unto the hill from whence cometh all our help. Lord, we thank You for Your grace, compassion and patience.
