Why Are You so Fearful?

December 5, 2016

It has been less than a month since the Presidential election and many people professing to be Christians are uncertain about the next four years. I don’t worry about tomorrow; because I know who holds my future.

Trump warned Americans before-hand; the election was rigged. The enemy and his demons may have won this round but the war and victory belongs to God and His people. God has promised us in his Holy word, “Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you ” (Hebrews 13:5) When Jesus and His disciples encountered a storm on the sea, It was Jesus that spoke to the wind and the waves “Peace be still.” (Mark 4:39) The question today is still being asked “why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?

Jesus comforts us with the promise of hope, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me.” (John 14:1) This election caused me to reflect on 1 Samuel 8:19 when the people of Israel wanted a king to lead them. They were convince that they should be ruled and governed like other nations. Samuel warned them that a king would treat them unfair and take everything they possessed. (1 Samuel 8:11) God had told Samuel before the people of Israel asked for a king, they had already rejected Him and turned to serve idols. (1 Samuel 8:8)

It appears, people have placed more confidence in the political process of this world than the loving hands of the One that created this world. God has clearly laid out His conditions of healing in plain English; “If we repent, turn from our wicked ways, seek “His” face and pray, “He” will heal the land and forgive their sins”. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

My readers, no matter you political affiliation, be assured, our hope and future lies in the hand of God. Only God can stop this run-a-way roller-coaster that’s causing many souls to be lost. You may still be certain that if it’s God will, He will wake you tomorrow, you will be blessed and Christmas will still be celebrated on December 25th. God is still in control, he is still on the throne. “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell”. (Matthew 10:28)

Prayer: Father, we ask You to strengthen those that are weak; grant peace that surpass all understanding to the fearful and confused. We know the earth and the fullness thereof is yours. The earth, sea, element and the cattle on a thousand hill belong unto You. Bless the weak to cast all of their fears and uncertainties upon You. Be their Stronghold in the day of trouble and a Hiding Place from our enemies. Open the ears and eyes of the Spiritual blind and deaf. Bless everyone to look unto the Hills from whence cometh all of our help; that the lost souls would turn to You, trust You and be a living testimony to Your goodness and mercy.
