Sign of Time

January 16, 2017

While watching the news, we hear of juvenile repeaters committing new crimes and the courts don’t know what to do with them or how to slow down their actions. The government wanted to stick their noses into the American families and tell them how to raise their children. The government and lack of parenting created these monsters and now, they don’t know how to deal with their actions. The government wanted to change the teaching of the Bible by calling it ‘child abuse.’ “Withhold not correction from the child. For though thou beat him with a rod, he will not die”.(Proverbs 23:13) If we believe Genesis, we have to believe everything between Genesis and Revelations. “All Scriptures is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness”. (2 Timothy 3:16) The government can find funds to build prisons but can’t find funds to support schools. This country have allowed educators and schools to cripple and rob children of an valuable education by re-redistricting communities, withholding financial support and hiring educators that have chosen paychecks over students.

When we took prayer out of the homes and schools, we opened the door and gave birth to anything goes. When we (parents) thought we knew what was best for our children, God know the plans he has for us “declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm, plans to give you hope and a future”. (Jeremiah 29:11) In the era I grew up, everyone was your parent. Other parents disciplined you and corrected you, with your parents blessings. Now, we don’t want anyone to correct our children. Without rules and correction, there is no love. “For whom the Lord loves, He chasten”. (Hebrews 12:6) Growing up, we didn’t have cell phones, I pads, video games or allowed to talk back; if we wanted to keep our teeth. Curfews were enforced and we didn’t tell our parents that we was going over to a friend house, we asked if we could go to a friend house. I thank my parents for strong discipline. I was taught to work for the things I wanted, to respect my parents, others, accountability and authority. After finishing our chores, we didn’t have the energy to get into any trouble.

When I hear of some of these things children are doing, makes my skin crawl. I feared my father more than the police. I would have rather went to jail than to answer to my father. In 2017, many juveniles have longer rap sheets than some adults. Parents are trying to be cool and be their children friends; by giving them everything they want, allowing them to talk back, throw temper tantrums or tell them they don’t have to answer to the authority. With the lack of discipline from the parents, many children are serving a life in prison; separated from society, family members and a future. As parents, we have placed many of our children on crutches by not making them work for anything. If you love your children “Train them up in the way they should go”.(Proverbs 22:6) Parents has said ‘they can’t do nothing with their children’. “Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouth that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body” (James 3:3) Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord”. (Ephesians 6:4) Fathers, you cannot raise or protect your children; if you are locked in prison cells. Set examples and stand tall before your children. Don’t delegate YOUR children safety, health or future to another man. Be a father, leader and protector. Regardless of a mother love for her son, she cannot teach him how to be a man.

Prayer: Father, forgive us of our sins of omission, negligence, lack of training and discipline.
