A Pleading Cry

March 6, 2017

When I look at the direction of this Country, I know the pain John the Baptist felt when he cried out “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand”.(Matthew 3:2)

It appears, people have lost respect for each other and don’t fear God or Hell. People will hurt each other, lie to one another, mistreat each other and have no shame or conscience. When I recall the things our parents taught us to be sacred have now become the ‘norm’. In the Garden of Eden, the serpent convinced Eve to eat from the “Forbidden Tree” that she would not die, but her eyes will be open. This Nation have convinced people that the same law in the Old Testament don’t apply today. In the Bible, when God said “thou shalt not” has the same meaning today.

When I hear of our Country allowing this new administration to run rough-shot, fail to indict guilty officers, supporting same sex marriages, allowing guns in the House of God and prosecuting some while allowing others to go free; bring tears to my eyes and cause my heart to hurt. These evil-doers days are numbered and “they shall soon be cut down as the green herb”.(Psalm 37:2) When Jesus was about to be crucified, He prayed “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do”. (Luke 23:34) We must not allow nothing to shake our faith in God. God will not turn His head to wrong-doing, especially after He “gave His Only Begotten Son to die for our sins”. (John 3:16)

We don’t have the luxury of time to hurt one another. Instead of spending a life-time of hate, we should reach for love. If we could talk to a deceased person, they would tell us that they wish they had more time. In the grave, we can’t ask for forgiveness or repent from our sins. Don’t let it be too late to repent and turn from our wicked ways. “Then he cried and said, “Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame” (Luke 16:24)

We all will have to give in account of our sins and God will hold each of us accountable. If you know you have sinned and have not repented, do it today. Don’t gamble with your soul. While the blood is still running warm in your veins, ‘come to Jesus and He will save you, if you only believe’. I truly understand John the Baptist crying in the wilderness. I don’t believe God is happy with the direction of this Country. Turn back to God before it’s too late. He is still waiting with out-stretched arms and willing to forgive us of our sins. If you have not already accepted Jesus, what is holding you back?

Prayer: Father, we stretch our hands to Thee, no other help we know. As we lift You up, we ask You to look into the hearts of sinners and evil-doers. Call them by name.
