He Lives

April 17, 2017

When Jesus got up and walked out of that tomb, He changed everything-for you, me and the whole world. “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. All of my fears are gone, because I know He hold my future and life is worth living; simple because He lives. Because He lives, I have peace. The question being asked today “have you risen with Christ?” In order to be raised, we have to die to the old man and his deeds. When we be raised from our sinful ways, we are a new creature in Christ. Old things pass away and behold all things become new. We have a new way to thinking, talking and walking. If God raised His Son, He will do the same for us. He will not allow us to remain in the grave. When God raised Jesus, Jesus took the sting out of death. Death no longer have power over us. When death comes for us, we will walk out of the back door of this life and into the front door of our eternal life.

When Jesus walked out of the tomb, He looked back at death and said “O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your power”? (1 Corinthians 15:55) Jesus has already taken the sting out of death and defeated victory over the grave. When Jesus raised Lazarus, He called Lazarus to come forth. Jesus is calling us to come forth today. He is calling us to come out of our sins, accept forgiveness and the Salvation extended to all. Pull off your grave clothes and come forward. Put away evil, lying, adultery, fornication or anything that separates you from God. When death calls our name, the grave nor death will be able to hold us. Jesus will call our name and we too, can walk out of the grave and put on a white robe.

Our forgiveness, freedom and victory was won over 2,000 years ago out on the Hill called Calvary. On this Hill, an innocent man was nailed to an old rugged cross. They nailed His hands and His feet, speared Him in the side, placed a crown of thorns upon His head and gave Him vinegar to drink. It was not the nails that kept Jesus on the cross, but the love for mankind. Jesus knew the only way for mankind to be reconciled back to the Father was through His death. Every-time we sin, we are driving those nails deeper into His hands. Instead of placing a spear in His side, we are placing that spear into His heart. We crucify Him everyday through our words, actions and neglect.

Another question on this Resurrection Day, “Have you rolled away the stone from your heart and allowed Jesus to enter?” Jesus is standing and knocking at the door of our hearts. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in and minister unto him” (Revelation 3:20) “The day you hear my voice, harden not your hearts as your fathers did”. Jesus is standing with out-stretch arms and begging “Come unto Me and I will in no wise will cast you out”. Will you open the door and start a new life with Christ? He is not in the tomb, out on a hill, but He is sitting at the right hand of God. He is interceding and pleading on our behalf.

Prayer: Father, thank You for sending Your Son to die on the cross. Thank You for salvation and forgiveness of sins. Father, we believe that You died and was raised. We ask You to come into our hearts and forgive our sins. When You come into our hearts, we can celebrate everyday as our resurrection day. This is the day that we died to the world and was raised as a ‘new creature’ in Christ.
