While working on my message and searching the Scriptures, I find so many comparisons of Jesus, the Crucifixion, Pilate, and the Black race.

In the Scriptures, Pilate nor Herod found no evidence against Jesus. Yet, Pilate traded in the ‘right for the wrong’ to please the people. The crowd had already formed their guilt and persuaded Pilate to have an innocent man executed and a murder be released. Jesus was sentenced to be crucified and Barabbas received probation.

It has become a daily norm to hear of police officers killing another person of color. When we hear of another police shooting, we don’t have to wait to be told the victim were black. When a suspect is sentenced to a long prison sentence, we know that person was black.

“A Grand Rapids, Michigan white cop fatally shoot a black man face down in the head in the struggle of a taser.” Isabel Keane

“California woman killed after Stockton Police fired 30 shots into her car.” Kalyn Womack

“Two men sentenced to 10 years in prison for robbing and kidnapping person at a Florence motel.” Dennis Bright

“No convictions in Michigan governor kidnap plot.”

“How many have been indicted, charged or sentenced for the January 6 insurrection of the Capitol?”

Where is all the Holy Ghost filled, born again believers? Why is everyone silent? Am I the only person see the wrong doings taking place in this country? As we approach Resurrection Sunday, we must be reminded of the high price paid for our Salvation. God did not watch His Only Son be nailed to a cross, mocked, given vinegar to drink, speared in His side, and hanged on a cross for nine hours that we can do as we please without any consequences. “For the wages of sins is death.” We can do like Pilate and turn our head and try to wash blood stains off our hands after our decisions. We can do our best to please God or people, but we can’t do both. There’s a day of Judgment coming, and we will have to give in account of our sins of omission and commission. Will you be ready?
